The MDE-A SPRINT,

The MDE-A SPRINT, the new NEV Neighborhood Electric Vehicle, designed like no other NEV. The SPRINT is a multi seat vehicle that can be driven by those with severe physical handicaps up to the paraplegic. With multi-seats, no steering wheel, no accelerator or brake pedals, no tillers, no brake levers nor reversing switches, SPRINT requires use of one hand operation only and revolutionizes all NEV'S like none other.

CONTROL CONSOLE: Located between the seats, the control console contains the MULTIMODE CONTROLLER (MMC), light switch, parking brakes, power and battery charge multi-switch.

MULTI-MODE CONTROLLER MMC: Located in the control console between the seats, the MMC controls forward and reverse speeds, steering, braking, horn and power meter. This patented MMC allows for operation of the SPRINT from either left or right seat. No other NEV has this feature. No need to switch seats for left or right hand drivers.

MULTI-MODE AUTOMATIC BRAKES: In normal operations, the automatic parking brakes lock up the vehicle, even on a 15% grade without rolling. By moving the MMC, the brakes release and the SPRINT drives away. Braking is now controlled by the MMC brake button. When the SPRINT stops, the automatic parking brake comes on, locking up the car. Moving the MMC again releases the brakes. As in all NEV's the SPRINT incorporates regenerative braking.

DURABILITY PLUS: Constructed of aerospace grade alloys, this NEV weighs in at 450 lbs., half that of other dual seat golf cart type vehicles. Able to absorb 5 mph without damage with unique bumpers.

CONTROLLABILITY: All around independent suspension with radius arms, coil springs, tubular shocks up front. True trailing arm rear suspension with coil springs and tubular shocks for excellent tracking. Suspension is adjustable for road clearance to suit the operators weight. SPRINT has self-adjusting power electronic disc brakes.

STEERING: Unique patented electronic steering system incorporating the MMC for super precise directional control of the SPRINT NEV. Fully adjustable for response and speed control.

PROPULSION: Patented direct drive heavy duty traction gear motors with helical gearing for quiet operation. Dual motor drive eliminates heavy axles and differentials and increases drive reliability. Sealed gearing never needs lubricating. No locking worm drives, no heavy differentials or live axles. Heavy duty industrial power steering system. Special electromagnetic disc brakes require no adjustment or maintenance.

CONVENIENCE: Built-in heavy duty automatic battery charger with 20 ft. retractable, ratcheted reel-cord provides for easy overnight charging. Automotive quartz-halogen headlamp, tail lamps and coweling courtesy lamp for night time driving. Battery meter in console.

HEFTY: Payload of 400 lbs., more than adequate for occupants and rear carrier items. Anti-theft brake mode prevents SPRINT from being rolled away. Also, an optional double wheelchair carrier for the rear carrier.

UTILITY: Easily driven thru 48 inches wide doorway. (The SPRINT is 41 innches wide) for easy access to shoppong malls, supermarkets, hospitals, governmental agencies, etc. Not accessible to wider makes of golf car type vehicles. Quick removal of rear carriers uncovers wheel tracks for carrying two folded wheel chairs.

UNIQUE: Programmable electronic controls for forward and reverse speeds, acceleration and deceleration, turning speed, automatic stopping and parking brakes tailors the vehicle to the driver's needs.

PERSONAL: An ideal personal NEV for daily chores, shopppping mall, supermarket visits, for use in gated communities and senior citizen developments.
