COMPANY BACKGROUND

MDEC founder and owner Rick Manak is a multi-degree Aerospace Engineer having more than thirty years experience in systems design for the Aerospace, Hydrospace and Manufacturing Engineering industries for fixed wing and rotary wing air frames, engine design and electric vehicle development.
Aside from being CEO of MDEK, Mr. Manak is Engineering Consultant to Dunrite Systems Corp., a major defense contractor. MDEK is under contract with New York State Energy Research and Development Authority, NYSERDA, to continue development and manufacture of the MDE-A SPRINT NEV.
The MDE-A SPRINT vehicle is fully patented and incorporates all of the latest technological innovations associated with electric vehicles including fly-by-wire throttle, steering and brakes. The vehicle incorporates the patented Control Console and the MULTI MODE CONTROLLER, for totally reliable electronic control of stability, speed steering and brakes.
    The Vice President and General Manager is Uwe Gerhard Tomkowitz, Ph.D. Mr. Tomkowitz is an Industial Engineer with more than thirty years experience in national and international marketing for various regional transportation companies, and also serves as Director of Manufacturing for Fraunhofer USA Technology Center in Hialeah, Florida.      

MDEK Inc., manufacturer of the MDE-A SPRINT vehicles has the financial support of the prestigious New York State Energy Research and Development Authority, NYSERDA for further developmental costs and production. NYSERDA has awarded MDEK with a $200,000.00 grant contract. Total developmental costs by MDEK in developing the MDEA proprietary technology exceeds $1.5 million.

The NYSERDA Transportation Research Division continues to support the engineering efforts of MDEK in developing and production manufacturing of electric and hybrid ground based vehicles.

MDEK has gained approval from the state of Florida's Enterprise Florida Inc. (EFI) and from the Beacon Council of Miami-Dade. The Beacon Council is Miami-Dade's prestigious and official economic industrial development partnership of South Florida. The lengthy application approval process has resulted in establishing MDEK as a Qualified Target Industry, QTI.

The Hialeah Dade Development Corp, HDDI. has provided MDEK substantial economic benefits for establishing a modern manufacturing plant in Dade County. In this new location, MDEK will continue research, design, development and manufacturing of the MDE-A, MDE-B, and the MDE-SVThe MDE-SV Unmanned Teleoperated and Autonomous Electric Surveillance Vehicle series of zero emission electric and low emission liquid fuel/electric hybrid ground based vehicles. The company has commenced manufacturing operations in Brooklyn, New York.
